December 2025 Grain Yard Feed

In November, the Louisville Planning Commission approved the request to amend the original PUD (Public Use Development) for an Outdoor Eating and Drinking Establishment and Mobile Food Court at the Grain Yard.

There are a few more approvals before starting construction, but here’s what’s brewing:

  • Finish restoration of the grain elevator, rebuilding the porte cochere over the front door and the boardwalk along the west side of the building.

  • Build a small boxcar addition on the back side of the grain elevator (east side). The boxcar addition will sit where the Acme Switch rail used to connect the Acme Mine to the Union Pacific (UP) / BNSF Railway line that still exists today.

  • Improve the current driveways and adding 24 new parking spaces. Also working with the city to add another 36 spots, equalling 60 new parking spaces in downtown Louisville.

  • Activate the outdoor yard on the west side of the building to include:

    • Stage and gathering area where artists can set up and provide ambient music for guests.

    • Dining area and mobile food court with designated food truck pads. Each food truck vendor pad will have an electrical supply to avoid the use of loud, smelly generators.

    • A small grain shed, relocated from the Warembourg Farm, that will be used as a mini tap house.

    • Outdoor decorative lights and stage lights.

The goal is to start construction as soon as possible so that we can celebrate the new community gathering space with you!
